Guy LeCharles Gonzalez

Ah, I love and hate finance! Hate, mostly. (I worked as a financial planner for one very dark year of my life. Ugly.)

I'm too lazy to check, but did that rise coincide with the King announcement? And if so, it'll be interesting to see what happens in a week or so if/when news of the delay sets in.

No, the King announcement hit towards the end of October as I recall (and I posted on it on Oct. 31). The stock started to tick back up around Nov. 18 and leveled off again a week or so later.

I suspect it was a combination of King and the X-III teasers (although the upswing predates the actual trailer release as well) reminding people that Marvel still has a few things going on. And I'm sure it overcorrected after the earnings announcement as well.

Hey nice work man! It's always nice to short and pull a few bucks out of the market. . .

We did a case study on Marvel about a month ago, and while they're generating cash hand-over-fist from licensing and toys, they're starting to run out of popular characters (and getting into movie versions 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.) Somethings gotta give in the future

Well, unfortunately it wasn't me, but I did score a free lunch out of the deal.

And he didn't short the stock, he just bought it at pretty near its low and sold when it cleared $2 per share profit. A very nice annualized return by the way.
