Time for my irregular crawl through the comic blogs and some other miscellaneous comic related links.
The first stop is over at Lefty’s place. His blog’s got a new look now. Some of you may have noticed the huge chunks of white space that kept punctuating his posts. Turns out that wasn’t for dramatic effect after all - there was an issue with images and a new template solved the problem. I tried to tell him the problem was his support for Rann, but he wasn’t buying it.
My post pointing out another blogger who is coming off a comic-layoff (Zilla’s Journal of a Comics Addict) drew out two more members of this distinguished fraternity: Mo Saur from a Random Walk Through Comics has returned after a hiatus that may be longer than my own and Mark Fossen is back after five years and was inspired enough by the efforts of Zilla and myself to start a comics blog of his own, Focused Totality. Mark has a bit of an advantage over many of us due to his mutant blogging powers but I’m hopeful the rest of the comics blogosphere will help me to forge an open, although perhaps uneasy, alliance.
Oh, and Mark wanted to know if his five year layoff was long enough to join in the club and he’ll be happy to know that after a quick check of the by-laws and meeting of the Rules Committee, he’s in!
And there’s a slightly different variation on this theme over at The Flying Inn, where The Derelict is completing her first year as a new comic book reader. I think the appropriate gift for a first year anniversary of this sort is either a Plastic Man or Dr. Strange comic, in case you were wondering.
Scipio’s recent series of pro-Thanagar posts over at the Absorbascon may not have you joining the side of the angels (get it wings – angels…came up with that all by myself) but you’ll at least have to admit the Hawks are having way more fun than their Strange counterparts.
Comic solicitations are a popular blog topic – not around here, cause I don’t read ‘em – but I think beaucoupkevin blogs them better than anyone I know.
Ian Brill has a very lengthy and well-thought essay, Considering Sleeper, posted over at Comic Book Galaxy. Know going in that Ian is a huge fan of the series and while you may not completely agree with all of his assessment, it’s definitely worth a read. It also reminds me to wrap up my own Sleeper post. Sometimes I drag these things on for weeks before posting them.
Jason Richards continues his fascinating series of posts on the labors of opening of a comic book store. If you’re an avid comic book reader you’ve probably fantasized about one of two things (maybe both – and I’m limiting it to two here, this is a family blog): writing comics or opening a comic book store. I fall in to the former category, but if you’re in the latter you should be following Jason’s adventures very closely.
And finally, I’ve added a new site over in the Creators section, DC Conspiracy. It’s a group blog -- all Washington DC area comic creators -- and they’ve had some really interesting posts on the vagaries of creating comics. Real good stuff.
Oh, and according to an email I got at the account associated with this blog (not my regular email address by the way, so I apologize if I don’t always get back to you zippity quick) I can get great deal on Cialis. So if you want me to hook you up, just drop me a line – I’m pretty sure it’s a limited time offer.
You know what - i can't say it enough - it's great to have found you guys (and gal). i guess this is what online commmunity is all about. i have all of... ohhh... zero (literally) "real life" friends who read comics. and to have found a gang who are coming from a similar perspective is all the sweeter...

Hey, thanks for the plug!
And I think I'll pick up one of each :)
